A grand scale oeuvre featuring Washington DC as the star, with Uncle Sam in drag and a brutal scrap between two yuppies over the wares of an Apple Annie on the steps of the New York Stock Exchange. Through the use of tableau vivant, the paintings of Rockwell Kent, Edward Lannan and Raphael Soyer come to life and combine with visions of Lower East Side tenements and urban squalor to illustrate the lies and broken promises behind the "greatness of a nation".
